Toronto's Megan Bonnell, having recently signed to Nevado Records (Yukon Blonde) releases her debut EP MAPS, a four track EP that introduces Bonnell and leaves a lasting impression with each song.
Megan's signature vocals, rich and warm are full of confidence breathing life into the stories she weaves on MAPS including the melancholy folk pop of 'South Korea' Bonnell's first single. The focus of Bonnell's compositions are the piano and her vocals though the percussion and cello add lush depth to her sound, but the real star is the songwriting. 'Lowell, MA' paints dreamy-images through Megan's lyrics and skill as a storyteller.
Though MAPS doesn't show much of the bouncy, quirkier side of Bonnell with the exception of 'Lake Superior' livelier personality, the EP doesn't suffer from it's weight instead showcasing Bonnell as a composer and singer first and foremost.
