EP Beat: Data Romance

Data Romance - Data Romance EP   4.5/5   iTunes

After tantalizing singles like 'Bones' that teased of what's to come from Ajay Bhattacharyya and Amy Kirkpatrick (aka. Data Romance) the wait is over. The electro duo's self-titled debut EP doesn't miss a beat, showcasing a variety of styles the Vancouver Duo are set to take electronic-pop to new heights.

The EP's four tracks, 'The Deep,' 'Arms,' 'Bullets,' and 'Streetlights,' each strong and incredibly addictive in their own right. Kirkpatrick's lush airy vocals bleed Lykke Li-esque eroticism, yet float effortlessly over Bhattacharyya's twisted, contorted production and pulsating beats.
From Amy's manipulated vocals on the boundary pushing 'Arms' to the more straightforward lush pop style of 'Bullets,' Data Romance possess more soul, and badass attitude than most of their electronic counterparts. Never shying away from twisting the pop format on it's ear and stirring up addictive, emotive tunes you won't soon forget.
