Record Revue: Luke Temple

Luke Temple - Don't Act Like You Don't Care  4/5

Here We Go Magic's Luke Temple crafts a collection teeming with bright folk-pop songs on Don't Act Like You Don't Care, Temple's first solo record since 2007.

Temple's ethereal tenor, and playful instrumentation wrap Don't Act Like You Don't Care in a warm blanket, that's charming and light, while Temple's enthralling storytelling creates gorgeous imagery that's of equal parts drama and romance.
Contrasts between jaunty pop gems like 'More Than Muscle' versus the balladry of 'Ballad for Dick George' never stretches the fabric of Don't Act Like You Don't Care as Temple weaves imagery and instrumentation together to produce a solid set of nine tracks that put him right alongside Conor Oberst's Bright Eyes.

Essential Tracks: 'Weekend Warrior,' 'Ballad for Dick George,' and 'Ophelia'
