Record Revue: Penguin Prison

Penguin Prison   4/5

Marrying 80s synth-pop with electronic grooves, Penguin Prison mine playful pop tunes so sweet you're likely to develop cavities.

Candy coated tracks of Penguin Prison's (aka Chris Glover) debut album, are irresistible with hooks that immediately latch onto your ears. The  soul-funk groove of "Golden Train" to electro-disco gem of "Multi-Millionaire" to the bubbling synth of "Fair Warning," Penguin Prison turns out tune after tune that deserve to be stand alone singles.
Don't let the colourful exteriors of "Desert Cold" and other pop jams fool you, Penguin Prison has serious pop credibility, standing up well next to the best pop has to offer. Built-in with enough treats and school yard fun, it's sure to be a regular fixture on your playlist.

Essential Tracks: "Multi-Millionaire" "Golden Train" and "Fair Warning"
