Jane's Party Celebrate & Gramercy Riffs Rock Out

Jane's Party @ Horseshoe Tavern

Putting on a party for the release of their self-titled EP, Jane's Party brought their fun, catchy indie-pop to the Horseshoe Tavern Thursday Night with the help of some friends The Fast Romantics, Gramercy Riffs (more on them later) and Entire Cities.

Following an enjoyable set by the Toronto by way of Calgary 5 piece, Fast Romantics (Check out their song "Cool Kids"), Jane's Party took the stage.
Charming the girls with their good looks, and wooing the boys with their infectious grooves, Jane's Party are the definition of a great pop band. Performing tracks featured on their newly released EP, Jane's Party has a beach boy-esque feel about them, and are instantly enthralling live. Did we mention the set design? Thanks to some cleverly placed Umbrellas.
From the new S.V. favourite "Alone Together" to the one off horn section for the toe tapping "What You Wish For (Doesn't Always Come True)" the audience was eating up the feel good vibes of Jane's Party and their hooky indie pop tunes went down easy.

Up next Gramercy Riffs....

Gramercy Riffs @ Horseshoe Tavern

Closing out the night was Gramercy Riffs, one of the city's best kept secrets and deserving of more love. Reportedly working on a new record the band, pumped out solid rock favourites "Call Me" and "Little One" while debuting a new track "Sarah" that is in a similar vein to their first record's sound of no fuss rock 'n roll.
Despite a dwindling crowd, Gramercy Riffs, put on a solid set that makes one wonder why they aren't a bigger band already?! No matter, the bands rich sound, thunderous beats and straight forward rock jams are all the more rewarding live, though if you can't catch a show (which you should), the album It's Heartbreak is worth a listen, or two, or three.
