Ruby Coast - Whatever This Is 4/5
Last September Aurora's Ruby Coast released their first single 'Creep Me Out' and announced their debut record would be released in early 2011, but with limited details, no one knew with what label and when. Well the boys of Ruby Coast have opted to offer their debut full-length album Whatever This Is for free download at Bandcamp.
Continuing in the vein of 'Creep Me Out,' Whatever This Is is a tightly packed ten tracks featuring flourishes of hand claps (check out their aforementioned single), angular guitars, colourful keyboards, yelping vocals and boundless energy. Standout tracks 'Dr.Acula' and 'I Live With Monsters' are addictive gems that will easily find you hitting repeat time and time again.
With all the gloomy winter weather Ruby Coast provide a bit of sunshine with their long-awaited debut. Whatever This Is is just waiting for you to get the party started by clapping your hands and stomping your feet along with the boys.
