We Are The City - Morning Song
Back in September, We Are The City released their Mourning Song/Morning Song 7" single and though it's been over a month since the newly minted trio released their two song single, it's been spinning at Shattered Vinyl ever since.
"Morning Song" the back half of the band's 7" captures the band at it's finest. Full of thunderous piano, lush guitar riffs, the band gives space to an a Capella Cayne McKenzie in the opening verse, showcasing his earnest as well as the instrumental peaks and valleys in a slowly building crescendo of atmospheric progressive-pop. It's just enough to give an already well-rounded track a bit of drama.
"Morning Song" is a slow burner, which makes it all the more enjoyable over time, one worth hearing on their Bandcamp website.
