Single Selections

Jessica Lea Mayfield - Our Hearts Are Wrong   4.5/5   Myspace

Mayfield's sultry cool vocals, self-awareness is in turns powerful and vulnerable. Lines like 'The only time I miss you  is every single day', the subtle blues-rock track is genuinely moving and one of the best songs of the year so far.

Freelance Whales - Generator ^ First Floor   4/5   Myspace

Currently a fixture of Starbucks' new Espresso Commercial, off the group's debut record Weathervanes It's the perfect folk-pop blend and a proof Freelance Whales are just as hot as ever.

Britney Spears - How I Roll   3.5/5   iTunes

Pulled from Spears' latest release Femme Fatale, is one of the most interesting tracks since 'Toxic.' Taking a page from Gwen Stefani's 'Bubble Pop Electric', Brit plays with cheery, bubble gum pop twisted and spliced over tricked out electronic ticks and whirls.

Najjah Calibur - So Far (Been A Pleasure)   3.5/5   Youtube

Toronto's own Najjah Calibur artist and host on indielove.ca releases 'So Far' a flirty, fun hip-hop/pop track.  Sure to be spinning on your ipod just in time for spring.

Mother Mother - Baby Don't Dance   3.5/5  Myspace

Releasing Eureka, their latest disc full of pop-rock gems including the shimmering keyboards on the dance-rock of 'Baby Don't Dance' make for one hard to resist single, worthy of a spin or two... maybe 10!
