In the age of iTunes, Facebook, Myspace and Twitter, artists are relying more and more on social media to get their brand out to fans at a grassroots level limiting the cost to the fans with free downloads for a 'Like' on Facebook or paying with a 'tweet' on Twitter, the novelty may have worn off but the exposure and reward gained from using these mediums is very real.

Bristol, UK native Florrie is just another example from a long line of artists, including Radiohead or more recently mash-up royalty Girl Talk, to offer her material for free from her website, but what makes her worth the attention are both her credentials, and her impressive free debut EP simply titled Introduction.

At just 21 years of age, Florrie has an impressive resume as not only a singer/songwriter/guitarist but also a successful drummer, becoming the house drummer in 2008 for UK production team Xenomania, having worked on tracks for various artists including Kylie Minogue, Pet Shop Boys and 'The Promise' by Girls Aloud, not mention playing gigs like Scotland's Glastonbury Festival and BBC Radio One's Live Lounge. Over the past year she's released several tracks free to her fans, even remixing them herself and with the help of contemporary French disco legend Fred Falke.

Introduction is a fun slice of high octane pop, laced with electronic grooves, and lush beats, 'Summer Nights' is a standout disco pop track, while another favourite 'Left Too Late' sounds like Girls Aloud may have rubbed off on her. All four tracks on Florrie's Introduction are unapologetic, energetic pop songs, from a woman seasoned well beyond her years, that stands-up next to her contemporaries like Little Boots, and the aforementioned Girls Aloud.

This unsigned dynamo has already received a ground swell of attention from Popjustice to NME, The Fader and Pitchfork Media. It's only a matter of time before she finds her way to your local HMV or radio station. In the meantime she continues to establish herself and reap the rewards of social media campaigns on Twitter and Facebook.
